Chemical Properties: Morpholine is a colorless, absorbent oily liquid. With ammonia odor. Soluble in water and common solvents such as methanol, ethanol, benzene, acetone, ether, and ethylene glycol. Morpholine can be prepared by dehydration cyclization of diethanolamine with sulfuric acid. Industrially, it is mainly produced from diethylene glycol and ammonia in the presence of hydrogen conditions and catalysts. It is mainly used in the manufacture of rubber vulcanization accelerators, and also in the synthesis of surfactants, textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, medicines and pesticides. Also used as metal corrosion inhibitor and rust inhibitor. It is also a solvent for dyes, resins, waxes, shellac, casein, etc.
